About the event

Southold Historical Museum’s Winter Lecture Series, “Local Farming Through the Years”, sponsored by NoFo Real Estate, will begin with a presentation by Tom Wickham, who will share the Wickham family’s long farming heritage dating as far back as the 1600s.

The free presentation, entitled “The Wickham Family’s Farming Tradition” will begin at 4pm at the Southold Town Recreation Center at 970 Peconic Lane, Peconic, NY 11958.  Mr. Wickham and his family own Wickham’s Fruit Farm in Cutchogue. He is a former Southold Town Supervisor and a research scientist by training. The family has been farming continually for many generations, even as the agricultural trade has transformed through the centuries.

The series, which offers a unique opportunity to understand this vital part of our history, continues in February with speaker Al Krupski, and in March with speaker Mark Torres.
