About the event

If you are enthusiastic, creative, and passionate about history and the arts we are looking for you!

Our docents serve as informed and friendly ambassadors – educating our visitors about our rich history, museum philosophy, and rotating collections.  In addition, docents communicate with visitors and answer questions during their self-guided tours, orienting visitors with the campus layout, and ensuring that they have a safe and enjoyable experience.

On May 7, 2025, you are invited to an Open House Tea at 3:00 PM for current and prospective volunteers.  The tea will be held at the Ann Currie-Bell house, 55200 Main Rd, Southold, NY. Please come if you are interested in finding out about volunteering at our Maple Lane Museum Campus or the Horton’s Pt. Lighthouse.

For more information, please contact Southold Historical Museum, 631-765-5500 or info@southoldhistorical.org.
