Office Assistant/Receptionist

 

Local non-profit seeking a part-time assistant. Up to 25 hours per week. Responsibilities include reception, errands, office work, and light maintenance. Valid NYS driver’s license with a clean record and ability to lift up to 50lbs. preferred. Flexible schedule. Salary range $18-$20/hour.

Job Description

This role involves supporting the Executive Director and Office Administrator as well as receiving visitors, volunteers, and customers to the office and shop.

 

  • Helping with mailings

  • Copying, collating, stuffing work

  • Taking phone calls and messages

  • Assisting customers

  • Processing gift shop sales

  • Refilling the gift shop floor after merchandise is sold

  • Moving objects/furniture as needed and as appropriate

  • Receiving deliveries

  • Storing supplies

  • Running local errands

  • Putting up event flyers/advertising posters

  • Picking up the mail

  • Checking on the buildings

  • Receiving research requests and sending them to the appropriate personnel

  • Processing temporary receipt of gifts (for artifacts)

  • Supporting committee chairs with supplies, copying, etc, per the director’s approval

  • Opening and closing buildings when needed

  • Scheduling and meeting contractors

  • Setting up for Events

  • Cleaning up after Events

  • Conducting minor repairs/maintenance, as appropriate

  • Examining and reporting on building conditions

 

This position is hourly and can include Paid Time Off (PTO).
