Plan an In-Person Visit to Our Prince-Bjerknes Archives Center
Southold Historical Museum has a large archival collection consisting of original diaries, letters, documents, ledgers, daybooks, genealogies, photographs, drawings, other related materials.
The Prince-Bjerknes Archives Center is named for Helen Prince and Clara Bjerknes, who together first took on the job of organizing the extensive archival holdings of the museum. It is through their initial efforts that we are able to aid researchers from around the world. We welcome you to plan a visit.

New York Heritage Project
Southold Historical Museum is proud to be a contributing partner to New York Heritage Digital Collections, a statewide resource that provides access to photographs, letters, diaries, maps, directories, artifacts, oral histories, and more documenting New York's rich history and culture. Alongside contributions from more than 430 libraries, museums, archives, and cultural institutions, the Museum's digitized collections help preserve and share the history of Southold Town with researchers, students, and the public.
Portions of the Charles Harper Meredith (1889-1966) collection is available.
Meredith was a very active, local, professional photographer originally based out of Cutchogue, New York. His career spanned from the 1930's through the 1960's and led to the creation of an archive containing thousands of images of daily life.

Die Ann Currie-Bell-Sammlung

Die Meredith Collection
