Southold Historical Society’s museum grounds are nestled in the heart of the North Fork in the quaint village of Southold. Sprawling green lawns and over a dozen historic buildings make for a picturesque background for your special day. Rich in history and charm, buildings dating back to the 1750’s through the 1900’s provide unique photo opportunities. The backdrop of several historic homes, outbuildings, a schoolhouse, and barns make the grounds an ideal location for a memorable ceremony.

Wedding Tent

Our weddings take place any time after 12 noon until 9:30 PM. In order to be in compliance with Southold town regulations, music must end by 9:30 PM. The following information is for parties up to 140 guests. Please call 631.765.5500 for pricing and stipulations.

  • Site Fee: The site fee for weddings is $5,000.00

  • Ideally, applications should be received at least 3 months prior to the event.

  • What we provide: The venue, which includes 5,000 square feet of lawn and 14 historic buildings (exterior only). We also provide electricity and non-potable water for clean-up.

  • What you provide: The wedding party is responsible for supplying its tent (s), portable toilets, caterer, band/DJ, party supplies, flowers and anything else required for the event.

  • Requirements: Certificate of insurance naming Southold Historical Society as additional insured for a value of $1,000,000.00

  • Set up: The grounds may be accessed on the last business day prior to the event (ie. Friday for a Saturday or Sunday wedding)

  • Clean up: All garbage removal is the responsibility of the wedding party. Clean-up should be completed within 24 hours.
