Redecorating your home?  Looking for a distinctive gift for someone special?  Are you long overdue for some self-indulgence?  Check out the treasures and treats at Southold Historical Society’s Silent Auction.

The online auction will begin on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at 9:00am and run for 2 weeks.  With a variety of high quality items to bid on, lots will include something for everyone in a range of values.  Opening bids will begin low to encourage lively bidding and widespread support of Southold Historical Society.  All proceeds from the auction will benefit the history museum.

The auction committee has been busy gathering significant donations such as a painting by noted local artist, Madeline Basserear, prints by S. Neil Fujita and Rich Fiedler, a one-of-a-kind squash blossom necklace, and an autographed postcard and written musical musing of Edwin Fischer.  For the wine lovers, there is a VIP tasting and tour of Pellegrini Vineyards.  Lots such as a collection of three culinary herb pots or combination of local restaurant gift certificates are perfect for either those who love to cook and for those who love to dine out!

Southold Historical Society’s executive director, Deanna Witte-Walker states, ”We hope the community will see this as a way to do some ‘shopping’ while also supporting their local history museum.  Plus, who doesn’t love an auction?  Being the winning bidder is such an exciting and satisfying  feeling.”
