Information about the artist, Caroline M. Bell:

Caroline M. Bell (1874-1970) was one of the “most recognized artists and teachers working in Southold from the 1920s through the 1960s.” She had a home and studio in Mattituck for much of her adult life where she painted, mostly outdoors. She along with a number other noted artists often met to paint together. Her impressionistic style, while mostly self-taught, is widely-acclaimed.
